SharpCap is licensed under a slightly odd license,
since parts are derived from the Amcap sample application shipped as
part of the Windows SDK. The Windows SDK sample license excludes a
redistribution requirement on derived code. To allow for this I have
applied two variations of the BSD license. Both variations add an
additional restriction preventing redistribution in any form for
payment. The variant applied to SDK derived source does not require
further redistribution of source if you modify and distribute the
binaries. Files containing SDK derived source are clearly marked in
comments at the start of the file. Note that you can choose to
redistribute these files, you're just not forced to.
To Summarize, you may :
- Use the product freely on any number of computers
it for free in source or binary form (providing the redistribution
complies with both the license I have applied and, where appropriate,
the Windows SDK license - which you must agree to).
- Modify the product and re-distribute a modified version for free, satisfying the licensing conditions above
you may NOT :
- Impose a requirement to redistribute files containing Windows SDK derived code
- Receive payment in any method or form for distribution, modification to or support of the product
copyright or licensing text from the product or its source code, or
re-distribute the product without the licensing or copyright text
included in the original distribution.
